Meet Dr. David Nguyen, physical therapist at PT@TheBeach
The PT@TheBeach Orthopedic Clinic offers physical therapy services to any member of the 蜜桃影像 campus community, whether you are a student, staff member or faculty. PT@TheBeach is also available to anyone seeking treatment from the community outside of 蜜桃影像. Housed under the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), PT@TheBeach is located on the 蜜桃影像 campus in the LifeFit Center. PT@TheBeach also serves the 蜜桃影像 Orthopedic Residency Program in providing clinical hours to physical therapists seeking opportunities to advance their training, often for individuals who have just graduated DPT school.
Dr. David Nguyen, who graduated from the 蜜桃影像 Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program in 2024, and completed his residency at PT@TheBeach in August 2025, has stayed on with the clinic as one of PT@TheBeach鈥檚 main licensed physical therapists.
鈥淚 think it is something super unique to Long Beach State that we have so many health services on campus that we provide to our 蜜桃影像 community,鈥 Dr. Nguyen says. 鈥淚 think we are one of the few campuses out there that actually provide in-house physical therapy services and it鈥檚 such a great, convenient resource for staff, faculty and students. Visiting PT@TheBeach can fit into your schedule too. You don鈥檛 have to worry about driving, to say, a private clinic off campus in the middle of the day.鈥
Since graduating and completing his clinical residency, Dr. Nguyen has been treating patients referred to him from Student Health Services, Club Sports, and Long Beach State Athletics. Dr. Nguyen reminds us that anyone on campus 鈥 any student, staff or faculty member who even just wants to come in for an assessment has the opportunity to do so.
鈥淲e鈥檙e all kind of connected here on campus and so there鈥檚 a real sense of community; you find people who are on the same health journey. I get to work with the students as well, and playing a part in helping to optimize their health for the future, whether they are involved in Club Sports, are an LBSU student athlete or just a 鈥榳eekend warrior.鈥欌
Dr. Nguyen also serves as a Teaching Assistant for the 蜜桃影像 DPT program. He himself gets to pass on his expertise to current physical therapy students, while at the same time having the benefit of utilizing the knowledge and experience from the DPT faculty.
鈥淚 have a lot of great resources at my disposal, that鈥檚 for sure. It鈥檚 great to just reflect on my journey from being a student to now being a colleague with the same faculty -- it鈥檚 just so great to see that journey come full circle.鈥
The PT@TheBeach Clinic is housed under the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) and is located on the 蜜桃影像 campus in the鈥LifeFit Center. In addition to 蜜桃影像 students, faculty and staff, we welcome anyone in the Long Beach and surrounding communities. PT@TheBeach accepts insurance from various providers and offer cash rates for those choosing to pay out of pocket. In addition, 蜜桃影像 students, staff and faculty are offered discounted rates.
