November 13, 2008Library Hours Increase as Finals Loom Ahead
Year after year, semester after semester, despite recurring budget challenges, the Library has put the needs of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ students first, extending operating hours at the end of the semester for greater access to its information resources and services. "We understand that this is a time when students rely upon our books and databases more than ever to complete projects and papers," said Dean of Library Services Roman Kochan; "Sometimes, it's only the need for a place to study, and when the library was being renovated, we rented chairs and tables to provide for the increased demand."
In cooperation with Associated ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ President Erin Swetland and her cabinet, the Library, as well as the Open Access Lab in the Horn Center, will provide the following extended hours schedule in the pre-finals and final exam period:
December 7 through December 18, 2008
- Sunday 12:30 p.m. - 2 a.m.
- Monday-Thursday 7:45 a.m. - 2 a.m.
- Friday 7:45 a.m. - 9 p.m.
- Saturday 10 a.m. - 2 a.m.
With the help and cooperation of University Police and Corporal Ami Rzasa, escort service to parking areas also will be extended.
