Loan Policy
For the Biological Collections maintained by the Biological Sciences Department at ÃÛÌÒÓ°ÏñState University, Long Beach.
The ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Zoological Collection provides loans of skins, skeletons, and fluid-preserved specimens from its collections for scientific research or education.
Please contact the Zoological Collections Manager at CNSM-Verts@csulb.edu with any requests for specimen data, loans, or destructive sampling. If your request will include destructive sampling, please see also: Destructive Sampling and Analysis Protocol.
Use of Specimens
Specimens loaned for research should be acknowledged by catalog number in any subsequent publications, reports, presentations or GenBank submissions. Specimens loaned for education should be credited to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ in text accompanying the educational display.
Loaned specimens may only be used for the purpose outlined in the original request and written permission must be obtained for any use outside of the original scope (including transfer of ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ specimens to third parties).
Returning Specimens
Specimens on loan should be returned to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ using the same packing containers and materials, shipping method, and insurance value unless other arrangements are made with the ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ Collections Manager.
