The program has helped launch Beach graduates into major and independent animation studios like Pixar, DreamWorks and Klasky Csupo, onto TV and film productions.

ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ has several programs ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñentrepreneurship for students majoring in any subject.

The journey dramatically changed the students’ perspectives on life abroad and here in the U.S.

This year’s Commencement is also the final official event of Cal State Long Beach’s 75th anniversary celebration, which officially kicked off in September.

Ebony Tay is a proud Guardian Scholar graduating this month with a degree in Film and Cinematic Arts. She also grew up a foster child, adopted into a poor, working-class family of gold miners in a small town in Canada.

Cal State Long Beach is one of only 27 higher-education institutions nationwide to earn both the Research 2 (R2) and the new Opportunity Colleges and Universities (OCU) Carnegie Classification designations.

Bruce Mac Rae is receiving an honorary doctorate of humane letters for his generous contributions to ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ, as well as his support of Beach athletics and local nonprofit organizations. He'll receive his honorary degree during the College of Engineering’s Commencement ceremony on May 18.

Alumna Erin Gruwell '94, known for "The Freedom Writers Diary" and her service to educators and students, is set to receive an honorary doctorate.

President Jane Close Conoley and her husband, Collie, shared anecdotes about their lives and Conoley's leadership as she nears retirement.
