Beach XP
A Learning Community for First-Time, First-Year ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ
Beach XP (Beach Experience) is a first-year learning community designed to support the transition of incoming first-time, first-year students into college life. The program fosters academic success, peer connection, and personal growth through collaborative learning, career exploration, and community engagement.
The program is offered in two unique pathways:
- All incoming students, are cohorted by college to access the Beach XPerience Learning Hub – a self-paced, interactive Canvas course packed with tools, tips, and real talk to help students thrive at The Beach.
- Some students may also be a part of a cohorted model with at least one class, with peers within their college, supported by a tight-knit learning community.

A learning community is a group of students who come together to connect and collaborate around a shared goal. In Beach XP, these communities are organized by college, so students in the program get to interact with a group of peers with their same academic goals on the first day of class.
ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ in the cohorted model with at least one class come together each week and also take part in activities and events outside of the classroom.

Beach XP is a program that offers first-time, first-year students a chance to kick-off their academic career as part of a learning community within their college. The program aims to enhance the college experience by helping students forge lasting peer connections and resources to be able to reach their academic success. All students will have access to the Beach XPerience Learning Hub while students in the cohorted model with at least one class meet each week for designate courses that count toward their general education or major-specific requirements.

Beach XP aims to provide first-time, first-year students with tools to lay the foundation for success at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.

Beach XP is open and free to all newly admitted first-time, first-year students at ÃÛÌÒÓ°Ïñ.
All students will be enrolled into the Beach XPerience Learning Hub while students in the cohorted model with at least one class will also be enrolled in designated courses that count toward their general education or major-specific requirements.
Criteria for joining Beach XP may vary by college but students who have already completed one or more of the courses offered should note they will not be eligible to participate in this option of the program.
If you are student in the cohorted model with at least one class, you will also have the opportunity to participate in an activity hour, which may meet once or twice per week in person or be entirely asynchronous online.
